Students meet at Silliman University in the Philippines

Master Course in International Diakonic Management: Start of third module

Today the third module of the Masters Course in "International Diakonic Management" starts in the Philippines. 12 Studenst from Tanzania, Ghana, DR Congo, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong start with internships in social projects of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP). They will then hear lectures and attend seminars at Silliman University in Dumaguete.

Theology of Struggle

The focus areas of the third module are "Theology in the context of the Philippines/Theology of Struggle", "Normative Management in the context of society" sowie "Culturally sensitive and intercultural management". The module ends with a second period of academically based internships and an intermediate examination.

UEM and IDM

The international Masters Course is a joint programme of UEM and the Institute of Diaconic Science and Diaconic Management (IDM/part of the Protestant University of Wuppertal/Bethel). Dr. Victor Aguilan is the person in charge for the third module at Silliman University. Professor Martin Büscher (IDM), Katharina Kleine Vennekate (IDM) and Angelika Veddeler (UEM) run the programme and accompany the students.
