Volunteer Programme

The volunteer programme enables young people to work for a year in a church in a UEM region other than their own.

The UEM arranges working service abroad for young people between the ages of 18 and 27 in member churches in Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, China and Indonesia.

The UEM is looking for volunteers who have first-hand experience of church youth work and who are open to other expressions of faith and of Christian living.

Working service is possible, for example, in the following areas:

• children’s homes and kindergartens
• teaching in schools
• youth work in church parishes
• social projects
• training workshops for carpenters or mechanics
• agricultural projects
• church administration
