DR Congo: Women rebuild their country

Your donation helps in one of the poorest countries of the world

Women rebuild the DR Congo. The UEM supports their work.

A silent choir sings in Butembo church. They dance with gestures and closed eyes. The choir members are deaf. Karina Delina sings the text for the congregation members. She is the teacher for the students and teaches them to express themselves. Her work is so successful that her students can teach other deaf people when they have finished their training.

The members of the choir are trainees of the Kikyo integrative vocational school of the Baptist Church in Central Africa. They can learn beeing craftsmen and -women here, e.g. tailoring or masonry. With these skills they can take part in rebuilding their country and can even take care of themselves. For thosse who do not have any money Kikyo bears all costs. This is only possible by the support of donors. Your donation could help young people get a chance for the future.

The UEM supports many projects like this. Most of them are organised by women:

  • help for war refugee
  • schools and training centres
  • diaconic projects for the poorest of the poorest
  • support for small businesses
  • hospitals and health centres,  HIV prevention programmes
  • evangelisation amongst soldiers
  • peace work
  • care for war orphans
