UEM supports Amity Foundation
(28/05/2008) The United Evangelical Mission (UEM) is supporting the emergency aid for the victims of the devestating earthquake in Sichuan, China with 10,000 Euro.
The UEM is supporting the relief work of the Amity Foundation based in Hong Kong. Amity is a Chinese nongovernmental organisation with whom the UEM has worked since 1985 - the NGO's very beginning. Amity is experienced in emergency aid and was one of the first aid organisations to arrive in Sichuan after the quake, which killed more than 67,000 people on May, 12th.
Amity has set up an emergency relief co-ordination office in Chengdu. The Amity team already purchased and distributed quilts, plastic cloths, sheets, instant noodles, and water bootles in Beichuan, Dujiangyan, Mianzhu, Shifang, Pengzhou and Wenchuan worth 4.46 million Yuan (about 408,167 Euro).
