RDIS will be at the German Christmas Market 2019

The Rural Development Interdiocesan Service (RDIS), an organization of the Anglican Church in Rwanda, which is a member of the United Evangelical Mission (UEM), is joining the German Christmas Market in Kigali, Rwanda. The UEM will take part in this event through the UEM co-worker Richard Madete, the UEM North-South Volunteer Hannah Bilgenroth, and the UEM co-worker David Fechner. He works for APRED, a programme promoting peace, reconciliation and mediation in Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burundi. 

The RDIS will take part in the fourth German Christmas Market, which is held at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Primary School in Kacyiru on 16 and 17 November 2019 (#germanchristmasmarket2019). As a strong partner of the German Development Cooperation through the United Evangelical Mission (@unitedinmission), RDIS has been invited to take part in this event so as to showcase the positive results of our long-term cooperation. 

The German Christmas Market is a market place where partners of the German Development Cooperation (GDC) sell/display their products to a broad clientele. Thereby, the market offers an opportunity to showcase the positive results of the German Development Cooperation in Rwanda, with a special focus on areas of productivity and skills development, while creating an additional income for partner organisations. 

The German Christmas Market 2019 has the following objectives:

• To facilitate a platform to showcase and support the partners of the German Development Cooperation in Rwanda;
• To provide an opportunity for them to sell their products, create market linkages and gain more visibility;
• To promote “Made in Rwanda” products;
• To offer a wide range of Christmas gift items and other products
• To foster intercultural exchange. 

The German Christmas Market is jointly organised by the German Embassy in Rwanda, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the SOS Children’s Village, the Goethe Institute, KfW, the Savings Banks Finance Group, the Senior Expert Services, and the United Evangelical Mission (UEM).

We are inviting all interested partners and friends to visit the German Christmas Market 2019 (#germanchristmasmarket2019) at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Primary School in Kacyiru on 16 and 17 November 2019.
