History for Today – Understanding, activating, and updating the historical inheritance

The Archives and Museum Foundation of the UEM – The memory of our mission

Since 1998, it has been the task of the Archives and Museum Foundation of the United Evangelical Mission (UEM) to collect, secure and make accessible the archives and museum holdings of the UEM for science, research and teaching. The Archives and Museum Foundation of the UEM is an independent foundation.

The missionaries and sisters sent by the Rhenish and the Bethel Mission to Africa and Asia from 1828 onward sent a wide variety of material to the mission house in Germany: detailed reports on countries and people, documents of the emerging congregations, hand drawings, photographs and objects from the cultures of the international partners.
