A colourful Indonesian Becak has been donated to the Foundation. In South East Asia the Becak is a common means of transportation. Nevertheless, in the big cities the Becak is more and more replaced by motorcycles. In Jakarta for example it has already disappeared from the streets. Nevertheless, on the countryside the Becak still plays an important role in public transportation.
The Archive and Museum Foundation is thankful to the donors Doris und Michael Brandt, two former UEM co-workers who brought the Becak from Java to Germany 15 years ago.
