On 3rd May 2019 representatives of the United Evangelical Mission, the University College for Church Music of the EkvW / Evangelical Popacademy (Herford/Witten, Germany) and the Music Department of the Tumaini University Makumira (Tanzania) met in Makumira to sign an Agreement of Cooperation (AoC) in the field of international church music and plan further exchange programmes for students and lecturers in Witten/Herford and Makumira as well as a first International Summercamp on Church Music in 2020.

In a meeting at Makumira University, Mr. Ismael Mbise, Deputy Vice Chancellor of TUMA, handed over the signed AoC to Prof. Hartmut Naumann and Jörg Spitzer as well as to Rev. Seth Sululu (TUMA Music Dept) and Randy Stubbs (Cultural Arts Centre). The AoC now lays the ground for future joint programmes like the exchange of students and lecturers between Makumira and Herford/Witten.

On the occasion of the visit in Northern Tanzania the delegation from Herford/Witten met with local church musicians and choirs in order to get an impression on the variety and richness of musical activities on the congregational level.
