During the General Assembly of the United Evangelical Mission, representatives of five universities owned by UEM member churches, yesterday signed a memorandum on the joint development and implementation of the international study programme on "International B.A. in Diaconia and Social Work".
The participating universities agreed that the planned study course should be accredited in several countries: in Germany by the Evangelische Hochschule Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe/Bochum, in Rwanda by the Evangelical University of Rwanda, in Tanzania by the Tumaini University Makumira/Daressalam College and in Indonesia by the Diaconess College of the HKBP church in Sumatra. The e-learning area is to be coordinated by the Diaconic University of Applied Sciences in Bethel.
A prerequisite for the joint accreditation was the successful development of the curriculum in partnership in Sumatra. It enables students with an international bachelor's degree in diaconia and social work to obtain an academic degree in several countries at the same time.
