  • Development and Financial Advisor (m/f/x)

    In the framework of our South-South-Personal Exchange and on behalf of our member church, the Community of Disciples of Christ in Congo (CDCC), we are looking for a

    Development and Financial Advisor (m/f/x)

    The CDCC has its headquarters in Mbandaka, in the Province of the Equator, with about 650.000 members. Their districts and congregations are scattered in the forest, some of them isolated and difficult to reach. The church is actively working towards financial self-reliance at the local level.

    Your Tasks:

    • Assist the CDCC with budgeting, financial planning and reporting by implementing both the recommendations of the organisational and external financial audits

    • Accompany small credit groups towards the creation of a sustainable SACCOS (sustainable savings- and credit-co-operative societies)

    • Reinforce farming projects and animal husbandry for individual empowerment of church investment in land acquisition and development (coffee, palm oil, cacao, etc.)

    • Organize seminars on fund mobilization and management budgeting and pledges in congregations; monitoring and evaluation at congregations levels

    • Promote ownership and local resource mobilization

    Your Qualifications:

    • Degree or certificate as manager, economist/financial adviser

    • Experience in training and mentoring staff

    • Good communication skills and public speaking; team spirit

    • Involvement in local church community

    • Excellent language skills in French, good knowledge in English and capacity to learn Lingala.

    The secondment will be for a 3 years period. Extension for a second term may be considered.

  • Medical Doctor (m/f/x)

    In the framework of our South-South-Personal Exchange and on behalf of our member church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania / Karagwe Diocese, we are looking for a

    Medical Doctor

    for Nyakahanga Designated District Hospital, which is owned by this Church-Diocese of Karagwe. The hospital has been on medical services more than 100 years now. It has 180 permanent staffs and bed capacity of 224. It provides both curative and preventive services.

    Qualifications:

    • Medical doctor (generalist or other medical specialist)

    • Professional experience of some years

    • Excellent command of the English and Swahili language (Swahili course can be provided, if necessary)

    • High level of personal responsibility, independence and motivation

    • High social competence

    • Flexibility and team spirit.

    The secondment will be for a 3 years period. Extension for a second term may be considered.

  • Professional in Organic Farming (m/f/x)

In recent years we have developed into an international network of churches and diaconia with a modern and diverse profile.

    The Christian Church in Indonesia, HKI has been a member of this international network for more than 30 years, engaging in areas of education, advocacy and development. The HKI actively provides a quality education on sustainable farming practices and raises awareness on current environmental challenges.

    In the framework of our North-South-Personnel Exchange we are looking for a professional from Germany or another EU-country to work at the Pengmas Center. The Center was founded in 2013 by the HKI to offer practical training and workshops on Organic Farming to small scale farmers in North Sumatra.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • take inventory of farming methods/techniques and socio-economic situation of small scale farmers in the catchment area of the HKI Church

    • take inventory of objectives and strategies of the work of Pengmas and evaluate existing projects

    • advising and supporting Pengmas staff in planning and implementing training activities and seminars

    • establish a network of local actors, existing training centers, other religious institutions, NGOs and government agencies in the region to exchange on best practices

    • developing a concept for internal and external fundraising for the Pengmas Centre

    Skills and personal specifications we are looking for:

    • Completed relevant studies/training in the field of Agriculture

    • Experience with impact-oriented projects, project monitoring and project evaluation

    • Proven Consultation Skills in Development Projects

    • Experience with projects in international and intercultural environment

    • Excellent English speaking skills and ready to learn Indonesian

    • Years of working experience in South-East Asia are preferable

    This secondment will be for a three years period. Extension for a second term may be considered. The position/job offer is co-financed by Dienste in Übersee e.V. (Bread for the World) under the conditions of the “Entwicklungshelfergesetz”.
