»Jesus Christ says: Anyone who comes to me I will never drive away.« This verse from John 6: 37 is chosen as the watchword for the year 2022.

 

The carved wooden holy family from Sumatra, Indonesia, displayed in this year’s Christmas card, shows the harmony and peace we strive for. The unity, where no one is driven away.

 

If you look closely, even the ox from Isaiah 1: 3 is part of it. Although the interpretation was different in the past, let us take this as a symbol for full integration, also in caring for all creatures.

 

The picture of the card can be seen as a role model. We are invited to celebrate Christmas in faith where no one is expelled but is part of a great, worldwide family guided by the love we all receive from Jesus Christ.
