ELCT-NED has a new Bishop!

On Sunday May 9^th, 2021 Rev Dr. Msafiri Joseph Mbilu was consecrated and installed as new Bishop of ELCT North Eastern Diocese (NED) after the retirement of former Bishop Dr Stephen Munga. The service was led by the ELCT presiding Bishop Rev Dr. Fredrick Shoo and attended by other 18 bishops. The official guest of honor was the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon Kassim Majaliwa.

 

UEM as it was for other international guests was given the opportunity to present the greetings and Rev Dr. Ernest William Kadiva, Deputy Executive Africa Region presented the greetings of the UEM General Secretary Rev Volker Martin Dally at the service. The greetings were received with great gratitude and appreciation from the Presiding Bishop and the new Bishop of the North Eastern Diocese.

 

Bishop Dr. Msafiri Joseph Mbilu knows UEM quite well from his time as a scholarship holder and later on as a UEM co-worker in the Philippines.
