Fidon Mwombeki on mission and colonialism

The Tanzanian theologian and missionary, Rev. Dr Fidon Mwombeki, first came to the Mission House in Wuppertal (Germany) in 2005 from the Northwest Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania as head of the Evangelism Department before becoming UEM General Secretary between 2006 and 2015. During his ten-year stay in Germany, he was a member of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) from 2009 to 2015. Mwombeki also served on the board of Oikocredit for six years, including as President from 2010 to 2012. In 2016, he moved to the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). Since 2018, Fidon Mwombeki has been General Secretary of the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), based in Nairobi, Kenya, and thus head of an organization representing more than 120 million Christians in Africa.
