Christine Katsirabwenge Musongya now joined UEM Regional Office Africa as Programme Officer. She will be working from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, preparing, organizing and implementing joint programmes with UEM member churches.
When asked about her first experience with UEM, she says: “I can’t be sure but it seems to me I first heard ‘VEM‘, when I was at Sunday School, way back in the 1989s. The missionary Rev. Peter Krug from Germany visited the CBCA* Virunga parish in Goma, DR Congo. He talked about ‘Unie en mission’, twinning and partnership, and I think that was a first time I heard about UEM.”
After studying Health institution management, Her journey with UEM continued, especially in the field of education: she joined UEM scholarship programme for studying, and has been be enrolled in UEM’s master course IMADM*. After several years of working in health and development institutions of her church CBCA, she now joined UEM, to continue her work in an international context.
For Christine Musongya, working with UEM is rooted in the love of Christ, “…because, by His grace Jesus Christ loved and saved me and I know all my life depends on Him. I believe that working in UEM will provide me with the opportunity to learn together and more with coworkers from different backgrounds and cultures in diverse perspectives. Together, we contribute to UEM’s mission and goals for the Glory of God.”
In her free time, she likes to travel and visit relatives, as well as learning new languages and reading.
We welcome Christine Musongya at UEM and wish her God’s blessings for her work ahead.
