"God invites us!"

It was a service with lots of music: Dr Elizabeth Silayo was welcomed as pastor of the Regional Service in the Middle Rhine-Lahn Region (Germany) on Sunday, 18 June 2023. As the hosting Superintendent, Rev. Rolf Stahl welcomed Pastor Silayo. In her sermon, the theologian from the ELCT* emphasised God's invitation to us human beings: "God invites us to live together and to share everything that is difficult, but also everything that brings us joy, and to work together - even across cultural and national borders."

The United Evangelical Mission together with the region "Mittelrhein/Lahn" had invited to the service and the following reception in the Ev. Church of Emmelshausen. In their greetings, the guests underlined their joy to have Silayo in their region and in the Regional Service team and to work with her.

The Regional Service of the UEM was founded in April 2022. The international team, which consists of seven people, works in six regions of the EKiR* church. The Central Rhine-Lahn region, where Silayo will work in future, includes the five church districts of Koblenz, Simmern-Trarbach, Wied, Altenkirchen and An Lahn und Dill.

We wish Pastor Silayo and all five church districts good luck and God’s blessings for their work to come.
