With songs in Indonesian, Swahili, Lingala, Zulu, English, French and German, participants practise music from three continents.
At this year's Missionale in Cologne, the International Church Music Program of the United Evangelical Mission (UEM) is hosting a worship session that brings together different traditions. The musicians Espérance Mirindi, Hannah Ruzicka, Joel Thomas and Daniel Njikeu will lead the songs together with Jörg Spitzer, who is the UEM's program officer for international church music.
The Missionale is a meeting place with the theme of missionary church work and is supported by various regional churches, free churches and church organizations. This year, it took place at the beginning of June under the motto "Auswärtsspiel" ("Playing Away") at various locations in the city center of Cologne, Germany. The UEM was represented with a stand and various offers. It is one of the organizations supporting of the Missionale.
