Rev. Volker Martin Dally, the new UEM General Secretary, has now moved into his office in Wuppertal

The United Evangelical Mission (UEM) is led by the new General Secretary Rev. Volker Martin Dally since February 1, 2016. The theologian describes the special role of UEM and his task as follows: "Given the present situation, where many German citizens have strong reserves towards people with a different cultural or religious background, it is important to me that UEM brings its international competence into the intercultural and inter-religious encounters.“ The 55 years old Dally was appointed by the UEM Council as new General Secretary in the Javanese city Salatiga (Indonesia) last October. Until recently Dally worked as the director of the Evangelical-Lutheran mission society in Leipzig. The theologian will use his broad ecumenical experience which he gained during his service in 2006 when he was sent by UEM as a North-South co-worker to the GKJW member church on Java island (Indonesia). Here he was responsible for the inter-religious dialogue and the building-up of congregations. He continued these activities in UEM when he returned back to Wuppertal. After that he assumed the leadership of the Leipzig mission. Rev. Dally replaces his predecessor Rev. Fidon Mwombeki who recently went to the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva.
