Together for "Human Dignity and Human Rights

In order to further develop the close cooperation between the two ecumenical institutions - World Council of Churches (WCC) and UEM - representatives of the two institutions met in Geneva on 11 October 2021: Dr Jochen Motte and Dr Andar Parlindungan, both UEM, and Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca, acting General Secretary of the WCC.

 

The WCC and the UEM have been working together for many years in various fields. In 2019, together with the EKD, they initiated a study process on "Human Dignity and Human Rights". The results of the study process are to be published before the WCC Assembly, which will take place in Karlsruhe in August/September 2022.

 

The UEM is an associate member of the WCC and has just provided financial support for a chair in missiology at the Ecumenical Institute in Château de Bossey, currently held by Dr Joo Mee Hur from South Korea.
