A special gift to UEM

On August 25, 2022,  our tanzanian member ELCT-ECD* donated a land of 6.000 sq. m. to the United Evangelical Mission (UEM). The land is located in Dar Es Salaam inner city, a place called Kigamboni. 

To celebrate this event and to sign the documents, a delegation of UEM members came to Dar Es Salaam:

The deed of gift was signed by the Rev Volker Martin Dally, the UEM General Secretary, by Mr Timo Pauler, Executive Secretary for Finances & Administration, by Bishop Dr Alex Gehaz Malasusa of the ELCT- ECD and Dean Chediel Lwiza.

Part of the ceremony were also the Chairman of UEM Africa Regional Board (ARB), Bishop Mothusi Jairos Letlhage of the ELCB*, and two ARB members: Rev. Daphne Tauros of ELCRN*, Mr. Ndondole Anania of ECD, ECD District Pastors, members of the ECD Executive Committee, representatives of different congregations and UEM Co-workers in Africa Region.

It was in an atmosphere of joyful ceremony and thankfulness to ECD at the Azania Front Cathedral. Such enormous gifts are very rare and a special reason to be grateful to God in all three UEM regions. In all words of thanks, the speakers acknowledged and highly appreciated the ELCT-ECD commitment to UEM and the growing ownership and participation of UEM African members. The UEM handicraft gift to ECD illustrated the link between the three UEM regional offices, Pematangsiantar, Wuppertal and Dar Es Salaam. “UEM is aiming at empowering the regional offices to provide the required holistic development to all members”, underlines the Rev Volker Martin Dally. The acquired land is going to enable this strategy by building the Africa Regional Office through all members’ united efforts.

The visit of the UEM ARB members were in the framework of concluding the UEM week in Africa region, celebrated each year the first week of June,  where this year it was experienced exchange visits by ARB members to churches in the DRC, Rwanda, South Africa and Tanzania.
