The African member churches of UEM like to learn more about other religions and interreligious dialogue. On the other hand they want to strengthen Christianity to be self confident in this dialogue. This is one result of the African Regional Assembly taking place in Kibuye/Rwanda. The assembly also decided to hold a climate justice week in all African member churches in March, where different activities concerning climate justice can by carried out. This topic shall be included in worships and prayers during this week, too. In its last session the Regional Assembly held elections. Juanita Engelbrecht from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Republic of Namibia (ELCRN) was elected Vice Chairperson of the African region. The offical part of the African Regional Assembly ended today with a closing worship.Tomorrow and on Sunday the delegates will visit the UEM member churches in Rwanda, the Anglican (EAR) and the Presbyterian Church (EPR).
