"We have waited a long time for this booklaunch! The development process was intensive. The result is a discrimination-sensitive Bible, created from many different perspectives, that all children can celebrate." With these words, Sarah Vecera opened the Booklaunch in the City Church in Wuppertal Elberfeld, Germany.

85 visitors* from theology and church, anti-racism activists from all over Germany and the interested public followed the presentation where different people shared their perspectives on the Children's Bible.

In addition to Sarah Vecera, Senior Coordinator for Global Learning at the VEM, Andrea Karimé, the author of the Children's Bible, also led the evening.

In his speech, VEM General Secretary Volker Martin Dally emphasised how much stories and images shape us, especially in childhood: "With this Children's Bible, we are not offering fixed identification images and texts, but we are opening up possibilities." Dally expressed his great gratitude to all those involved in the process of creating the All Children's Bible. In addition to the VEM, staff from the EKvW*, the church district of Dortmund and the EKiR* contributed to the creation of the book and also helped to finance the project.

Annegret Puttkammer, director of the Educational Association Neukirchen, expressly thanked the UEM: "With the All Children's Bible, you are giving us all a share in your insights into ecumenical learning. We are pleased to be able to accompany this project as a publishing house!"

Even those responsible were surprised by the high demand: The All Children's Bible will go into its 3rd edition just one week after its official publication in bookshops.
