Composing together

Texting and composing together: The UEM Asian-German church music workshop shows how music can cross borders. Eight musicians from Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Hong Kong and the Philippines came to Germany and exchanged with German colleagues. Tonight they present their work in a big concert in Wuppertal. The musicians from Asia first travelled to the communion of Taizé in France, where they experienced a unique way to celebrate liturgy. "This was really special", Krismas Barus from the <link>Karo Batak Protestant Church (GBKP) said. "The simplicity of the hymns was a wonderful experience." But he praised also the meeting with German church musicians. "they are all real experts and I appreciate to learn from them." On the other hand side, the church music from the Asian colleagues was very inspiring for the Germans. In the concert tonight songs from Asia, from Germany and jointly composed hymns will be played and sung - an experience everybody is looking forward to.
