Mindful and diversity-sensitive, poetic and critical of racism, lively and suitable for children - this is how Andrea Karimé retells 21 selected stories from the Bible. Anna Lisicki-Hehn illustrates the stories for young readers to identify from different experiences and backgrounds.
The All Children's Bible honors the Jewish origins of the texts and makes people with disabilities visible, especially where the stories are not about healing. It also mentions women in central roles and doesn’t present human bodies in a standardized way.
The idea for the "All Children's Bible" started at a conference of the UEM, which dealt with the spread of discriminatory and racist theological narratives in church and around. As a result, a project group formed with people from different church and university contexts. The Children's Bible was developed in a two-year process, which was accompanied by a group of experts on behalf of the UEM. In addition to the UEM, the Evangelical Church of Westphalia, the church district of Dortmund and the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland contributed to the financing of the project.
