"Easter is the celebration of Christ’s victory over death, the triumph of life over despair, and the promise of hope in times of suffering." with these words, UEM General Secretary Rev Dr Andar Parlindungan opens his easter message for 2025. He applies the promise of easter to the many areas of conflict, where this easter, too, violence will be strong, and continues: "In the face of such darkness, we are reminded that Easter is not merely an event of the past but a living reality in which God calls us to be bearers of hope and peace."
UEM Vice Moderator Annette Salomo (EKvW*) begins her easter message starting from the time of passion, the seven weeks before easter: "We are approaching easter with all the feelings that we are currently dealing with." She especially highlights the efforts of UEM member church CBCA* in the east of DR Congo, which is working enormously under these circumstances: "It is about finding shelters, providing shelter, absorbing fear and trauma, strengthening visions of peace." Here, easter has a special role to play: "In everything, redemption comes through easter. God’s message to us is that we are not alone in our pain."

We wish you a Blessed Easter!
