The ecumenical work in our member church EKvW* gets a new structure: the oikos institute works on congregational and church development, global sustainability and development ministries, on mission and church partnerships, ecumenism and the interreligious dialogue. The institute continues the work of two institutions, the Office for Mission, Ecumenism and Church World Responsibility (MÖWe) and the Institute for Congregational Development and Missionary Ministries (igm). UEM will cooperate with the oikos Institute in many areas.
It began its work at the beginning of the new year, and on January 20 it was ceremoniously opened with a symposium and a church service in Dortmund's Reinoldi Church. Dyah Krismawati, executive secretary of the departments Asia and Germany and member of the management team of the UEM, spoke at the symposium.
We congratulate the entire oikos team and look forward to working with them in Westphalia and beyond.
