Evaluation workshop of the UEM leadership training in Jakarta

The Evaluation workshop of the UEM leadership training was held in Wisma PGI, Jakarta from July 29-30, 2014. This workshop was attended by 14 church leaders from Asia (Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Sri Lanka). The aim of this workshop is to evaluate the UEM Leadership Training which were already organised for four times from 2010-2013. With the assistance of Ms. Frauke Bürgers, the church leaders were able to evaluate and to share their concerns about the training, that they have followed. The Asian church leaders are aware and thankfull to the UEM for the leadership trainings and hoping, that this training should be continued in the future, with the recommended curriculums and inputs from the church leaders.
The church leaders are aware that in the next leadership training the contents of the christian spirituality and managerial skills have to be balanced. Dr Albert Jebanesan (Sri Lanka) and Rev. Gomar Gultom were two speakers in this workshop. Dr Binsar Pakpahan, a theological lecturer of the Jakarta theological seminary, joined also the workshop, to observe and to advise for the next training. It is also important to mention, that the spirit of togetherness emerged in this workshop. The HKBP district Jakarta decided after the initiative of Ephorus Willem Simarmata to finance the meals and exposure of the participants. The participants were accompanied by the HKBP district Jakarta to visit some historical sites in Jakarta. The result and recommendations from the workshop will be considered to formulate the future leadership training.
