Rev. Dr Fransina Yoteni and her 13 years old daughter Anastasia arrived from the far West Papua (Indonesia) in the snow in Germany last weekend. They have been officially welcomed with warm words by the UEM General Secretary Rev. Volker Martin Dally and the Finance Secretary of UEM Timo Pauler. Last October Yoteni, who is from the UEM member church GKI-TP, was appointed by the UEM Council as head of the Asia department and successor of Rev. Sonia Parera-Hummel who will retire next summer. Both Indonesian women will first have to learn German at the language school in Bochum. "We are very happy to have Fransina here in Germany. Now she has to concentrate on her German language course," said Dally. The theologian shall take over the Asia department and start to work in the mission house in Wuppertal after having passed the German language examen in August. During the transition period the department is led temporary by the General Secretary Rev. Dally. Dr Martina Pauly
