In October 2012 the UEM General Assembly (GA) will meet in Dumatra/Indonesia to discuss about "Living with other faiths". The 15th German Regional Assembly made preparations for this topic in their meeting at Schwerte/Westphalia this weekend. The delegates emphasised the importance of the dialogue with people of other faiths. They expressed their wish to include people of other faiths in the proceedings of the GA 2012. The delegates opportunities of specific projects in Germany such as the intercultural meetings in Wuppertal ("ZusammenSetzen") or the working group on Christian-Islamic encounters in Hohenlimburg, where the delegates had met for the opening worship of their meeting. The Regional Assembly also asks the General Assembly to support peace and environment protection projects, which bring together young people from different cultures and religions. The assembly spoke about the phenomenon of people melting elements of different religions into their own religiosity. This phenomenon shall be further discussed with the member churches in Africa and Asia. These churches shall also be asked for their input on the programme for the reformation jubileee in Germany in 2017.
