Online posters for eight church festivals can be downloaded from this website under section "church celebrates". Here there are answers in bright colours to the questions "Why Good Friday?", "Why Easter? The biblical background of the Christian festivals Good Friday, Easter, Ascension Day, Pentecost, Thanksgiving, Eternity Sunday, Advent and Christmas are briefly explained.
In view of the current precautions to contain the Covid 19 pandemic, the German campaign #kirchefeiert was launched exclusively online. The pre-produced introductory video with information and music is available on YouTube "United Evangelical Mission" and the Facebook account "@VEMission".
The initially German campaign #krichefeiert (church celebrates) was developed and produced by UEM in cooperation with the Evangelical Church in Rhineland and the Institute for Community Development and Missionary Services of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia. For all motifs there are also free online print templates for posters and postcards. #kirchefeiert is an open source project and is to run beyond this year. Further materials will be continuously posted on the website throughout the year. Social networks enable the celebration of Christian festivals also in qua-rantine times. Under #kirchefeiert examples of use can be shared on Instagram in the form of videos, photos, stories and texts on the respective holidays. Especially in the current quarantine situation the celebration of church festivals should not be cancelled, but should encourage and comfort people.
