Listening to people, empowering them and praying together

"We cannot say that we are talking about God and at the same time ignore the daily challenges faced by humans with their differences and expectations!" says Félicité Ngnintedem. She took up her post as Executive Secretary of the Global Programs I division and member of the board of the United Evangelical Mission (UEM) on 1 June.

The theologian, who comes from the EEC*, has been living in Bielefeld for around six years, where she has worked as a research associate at the Institute for Diaconal Studies and Diaconal Management. The 45-year-old came to Germany through the UEM's international diaconic programme in 2013. Here she completed a Master's degree in International Diaconia, making her part of the second year of the international diaconic programme. The diaconic manager is currently working on her doctorate in the field of diaconal science.

As Executive Secretary of the Global Programmes I division, she is responsible for the programmes and projects in the areas of Development and Evangelism, as well as the UEM scholarship programme and the interregional network "Diversity and Inclusion". She places particular importance on working with the people she is serving:

"Listening to them, praying with them and for them, but above all empowering them to stand up for their own dignity, is in fact really leading them to heaven. The UEM is committed to making this access to heaven a reality in everyday life."

In her free time, Félicité Ngnintedem enjoys reading and cooking, and is in the process of establishing swimming as a new hobby: "And when I travel, I'm happy."

We wish her all the best and God's blessing for her new responsibilities at the UEM.
