On 18 August 2021, six representatives of the coordination group of the HUMAN RIGHTS FORUM met with Foreign Minister Heiko Maas at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin to discuss issues of asylum and migration, especially the current crisis in Afghanistan. Topics of the discussion were a European and German asylum and migration policy that complies with human rights, as well as autonomous weapon systems and dealing with artificial intelligence applications.

The joint press release of the HUMAN RIGHTS FORUM can be found here.

The HUMAN RIGHTS FORUM, founded in 1994, is a network of more than 50 German non-governmental organisations working for the worldwide protection of human rights. In addition to the United Evangelical Mission, these include organisations such as Pro Asyl, Amnesty International, Misereor and Bread for the World.
