Merry Christmas

»The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. You have increased their joy; they rejoice before You.« Isaiah 9:2-3

 

The beautiful winter image reminds me of the promise from the Bible. The darkness is broken, bright light makes rejoicing possible. God’s promise gives strength to look ahead, despite our personal living condition. No triumphal procession with weapons, but a light that reveals everything: violence and peace, injustice and justice. The light shows where we shall work for God‘s mission.

 

Let us walk together into the world with this light that came to us in Jesus Christ. Let us build a bright world as God wants it to be. Then we will join in the rejoicing and joy.
