New Assistance in the Division Africa / Germany

Starting this May, Sarah Nephuth has taken over the parental replacement for Kristina Merkel as Assistance in the Division Africa / Germany.

Born and raised in Essen, Germany, she is in touch with UEM since her Volunteer’s Service in Rwanda. In 2016 she started her year in Kigeme, where she lived, learned and worked with Youth from the DR Congo and Burundi.

After studying tourism management she recently worked in Aachen, Germany, at a catholic organisation in the field of international projects. Her long term goal is becoming a Project Coordinator in Development Cooperation: “At UEM, I can really put my last experience into practice! And at the same time, I get to know different churches in Africa!”, says Sarah Nephuth.

Until September 2025 Sarah will support Rev Dr John Wesley Kabango in his work as Executive Secretary of the Division Africa / Germany. In this, they will work together with the Regional Office in Dar Es Salaam, facilitating the projects of UEM in the Africa Region. Also, communication with other departments at UEM will be part of her work.

In her free time she is active in her congregation, the Church for Düsseldorf, as a Worship Leader, likes to play Volley Ball and enjoys crafting hobbies.
