This claim and many other issues around partnerships have been discussed on the UEM partnership day on May 11, 2016. Around 300 people took part in a lively intercultural exchange in the main church in Wuppertal-Barmen. In the course of the discussions also the problems of intercultural partnerships were mentioned, e.g. cultural differences, communication problems and the big distances between partnership groups. Besides, UEM co-workers informed on the development and new forms of partnership as school partnerships, trilateral partnerships and on project work. At the end of the day the participants visited the exposition on the Theological Declaration of Barmen in the Gemarke church in Wuppertal. The partnership day offered the unique opportunity to meet those many people who are committed to the UEM partnership work in Africa, Asia and Germany.
