The UEM member church EKHN* has a new president: On 28 September 2024, the delegates of the synod elected Prof. Dr. Christiane Tietz at their special meeting in the Dominican Monastery in Frankfurt. The first female church president of the EKHN currently still teaches systematic theology at the University of Zurich. She will take up her new office in the EKHN at the beginning of 2025.

UEM General Secretary Rev. Dr Andar Parlindungan writes to her:

Dear Prof. Dr Tietz,

On behalf of the United Evangelical Mission, I am sending you our warmest congratulations and blessings on the occasion of your election as the new church president of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau from January 2025; the EKHN - one of the 39 global members of the UEM.

We extend these wishes for joy and blessings on behalf of the members of the UEM in Africa, Asia and Germany.

Many of them have been supported by the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau in the past and thus were able to carry out their tasks; we are thinking in particular of the joint partnership work.

We greet you with Psalm 143 verse 10: "Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Your good spirit leads me to level ground." and wish for you strength and wisdom in carrying out your new duties. I look forward to meeting you in person soon and would like to invite you to our mission house in Wuppertal.

May God's abundant blessings and guidance accompany and strengthen you in all your upcoming tasks and challenges in the leadership.

With kind regards,

Andar Parlindungan Pasaribu

General Secretary
