Graduates from the Sebastian Kolowa University College have received their diplomas on December 4th. They studied Special Needs Education and now are qualified to teach at schools and social institutions. The SeKuCo course includes different subjects such as education for children with speech impediments, visual impairments or learning disabilities. The students also completed internships in different institutions.
Three courses
The Sebastian Kolowa University College, the first diaconically oriented college in East Africa, was founded by the Northeastern Diocese of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Tanzania in 2007. It currently offers three courses: Special Needs Education, Law and Ecotourism. The college plans to offer more courses (e.g. in psychiatric care) and a masters’ programme in the near future. UEM supports the work and different programmes of the SeKuCo.
