Synod 2017 of the Rhenish Church with UEM Guests

In Bad Neuenahr (Germany) the 69th ordinary synod of the Rhenish Church is currently taking place until January 13, 2017 (more information available under: www.ekir.de). UEM is a voting member of the synod and is represented by its general secretary Rev. Volker Martin Dally and deputy general secretary Dr. Jochen Motte, respectively. In the course of the synod important elections, e.g. for the church board are on the agenda. Like in the years before, ecumenical guests have been invited to the synod coming from UEM member churches, namely: Ephorus Dr Darwin Lumbantobing (head of the biggest evangelical church in Indonesia HKBP) together with his spouse Mrs. Mantansia Siahaan, Rev. Dr. Martongo Sitinjak (head of the Koinonia department of HKBP) as well as Bishop Dr Benson Begonia (head of the Karagwe diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania). The synod is regularly informed on the diverse missionary and ecumenical fields cooperation between the Rhenish Church and UEM. Martina Pauly
