We need more opportunities to celebrate and sing together!
This was the unanimous conviction of the participants at the 2nd symposium "Music Moves", which took place in early February at the Lukas centre in Witten. The new Westphalian oikos institute in cooperation with UEM and the Protestant Pop Academy Witten hosted the event. 25 music-loving full-time and voluntary church workers and other interested people met to try out new, simple forms of transcultural singing and music-making together. Lingala, English, French, Latin, German ... in these languages the 5-member band as well as the lecturing musicians Gerald Ssebudde and Zainab Lax practiced their songs with the participants. More transcultural diversity in music in our communities, this could be experienced by all participants on this day.
From September 1 to 3, 2023, at the FestivalKongress SPIRIT in Bochum, a workshop will also deal with the project "Music Moves".
