UEM council meeting has begun

UEM council members from three continents have come to Bethel (Bielefeld/Germany) for the first of two Meetings in 2014. They meet until Wednesday, preparing e.g. the UEM General Assembly, which will take place in Wuppertal in June. Moderator Regine Buschmann, together with vice moderator Barbara Rudolph from EKiR reported about their solidarity visit to the Philippines in January. It was hard to see how big the destructions and the suffering of the people are, Mrs Buschmann told. But there are signs of hope as well according to the moderator: "We have proved that we are a communion of churches in three continents since the donations came from all over our constituency. I have to admit that feel quite proud about this organization I am serving." The council will meet until Wednesday.
