God is not an old white man, and the baby Jesus in the Christmas crib was not blond. This new children's Bible, in which the UEM played a major role in producing, takes this seriously. Because the Bible is diverse, and so are the people it talks about!
Andrea Karimé's poetic retellings play with language and attempt a new way of talking about God. The Jewish origin of the Scriptures is appreciated, women have central roles, people with disabilities appear not only in healing stories. The loving illustrations by Anna Lisicki-Hehn show mostly People of Color, as is historically accurate, and refrain from standardizing human bodies.
The All Children's Bible will be published in March 2023 in German Language by "Neukirchener Verlag" and can be pre-ordered now at this link.
