At the end of this July, United Evangelical Mission (UEM) and its Sri Lankan Member Church MC-SL* host a workshop together: “Youth For Children” is designed to engage the young generation in embracing God's mission within the context of serving, uplifting and promoting rights of children. UEM Programme Coordinator Ridho Simamora says about the workshop: “The young generation brings a unique perspective and energy to the Youth for Children Program. Embracing God's Mission within this context involves fostering spiritual growth, empathy, and service oriented actions towards positively impacting the lives of children in need.”
During the 11 days workshop, youth from all Asian UEM member churches come together in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. Throughout the program, the youths visit three preschool initiatives started by MC-SL and have the chance to live with a family in the Batticaloa community. After completing this program, each participant creates a personal action plan focused on their particular church.
We wish the young participants and their churches all the best and God’s blessings for their way ahead.
