Theme: Africa’s new self-confidence
Online Seminar Rwanda/ Germany
Friday, 15.03.24 - Saturday 16.03.24
For a long time, the principle of cooperation on an equal footing has been propagated in both political and church cooperation between North and South. Nevertheless, for many years, the roles of giver and receiver were clearly divided and there was an expectation in the North - although mostly unspoken - that the South should be grateful for all the attention it received from the North.
Some things have now changed here, and Rwanda is a striking example of this: the country presents itself as a partner with its own interests, for example when it comes to the question of how the UK deals with its refugees. On the other hand, Rwanda resents critical statements from the West on human rights issues and reacts by raising critical questions when the subject comes up.
How does all this play out at the level of church partnership work? How do we assess it on both sides, and how do we shape our cooperation on this basis?
Cordial invitation! The seminar will take place online as a Zoom event. It will be held in English.
