Too Young to Decide? Rethinking Power and Children’s Rights in Church and Society.
Bringing together three speakers from Europe, Asia, and Africa, this global conversation will explore how children’s rights are shaped by power relations in different social, cultural, and church contexts. From their regional perspectives and professional expertise, the speakers will reflect on where children are still silenced, excluded, or not taken seriously enough — and what needs to change so that they are not only protected, but also heard, respected, and able to participate.
The event brings together regional perspectives on children’s rights with a strong advocacy focus. It asks how power can be challenged in both church and society, how adultism can be unlearned, and how spaces can be created where children’s dignity, voice, and agency are taken seriously in practice.
After the three expert inputs, there will be time for discussion and exchange with the speakers.
