Our member church CADELU (Communauté Association des Églises Évangéliques de la Lulonga), which belongs to the Church of Christ in Congo (ECC), came into being through the mission of the English "Region Beyond Missionary Union" and gained its independence in 1960. The church has been associated with the UEM since 1976.
The church territory is located in the equatorial region of Congo on the Lulonga River - hence the name. The church consists of 20 church districts, which are coordinated from the headquarters in Basankusu. CADELU has about 70,500 members. The church maintains a number of diaconal institutions such as hospitals, schools and has projects in agriculture and fishing.
We support CADELU primarily in the areas of missions, evangelism and diakonia, education, especially in the training of theologians and administrative staff, and in children's, women's and youth work.
The church district Djolu is connected with the church district Obere Nahe of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland, Germany.
