The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Botswana (ELCB) has about 28,000 members in 43 congregations with a total of 44 preaching points.

Within the UEM there are intensive partnership relations with the ELCB. The church districts Braunfels-Wetzlar, Simmern-Trarbach and Düsseldorf-East are connected with church districts of the ELCB, and especially many youth and young adults are involved. They visit each other and there are various joint projects: For example, the construction of a children's playground in Sehitwa by young people from Braunfels - or the construction of a center for people with AIDS in Kang as part of a joint work camp.
