Die Indonesian Christian Church (HKI)  became independent in 1927 and has been working with the UEM since 1970. With its 325,000 members it is active in Sumatra, Java and Batam and employs 138 pastors, four vicars, eight Bible women, ten deaconesses, four evangelists and 55 teachers of preaching.
