The core area of our work in the Archives and Museum Foundation of the UEM is the support of science and research in the fields of mission and religious history, interculturality and ethnology.
In our research work we cooperate with many research institutions, not only in the ecclesiastical field. We cooperate with the FernUniversität Hagen, the Universities of Wuppertal, Duisburg-Essen, Tübingen, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Mannheim, Bochum, Münster, the Bible School Wiedenest, and the Church College Wuppertal/Bethel.
Publications of the Archives and Museum Foundation of the UEM
In the two publication series of the Archives and Museum Foundation of the UEM, "InterCultura" and "Mission und Gegenwart", eleven volumes have been published so far by Rüdiger Köppe Verlag, among them publications by Klaus Gockel, which shed light on the relationship between mission and apartheid, and a work by G. C. K. Gwassa. The latter deals with the outbreak and development of the Maji Maji uprising against German colonial rule in Tanzania in the years 1905 to 1907 and was published in 2005 due to frequent demand for a copy of the dissertation, which until then had only been available in typescript form.
