Global Education has long been grounded in knowledge frameworks that are largely shaped by Western perspectives. A decolonial approach invites us to re-examine global education practices by placing justice, diverse lived experiences, and the voices of local communities at the heart of the learning process.
Through this program, participants are encouraged to understand how colonial bias operates within education, while also shaping learning approaches that are more equitable, inclusive, and contextually grounded.
In this online lecture, participants will be introduced to the concept of decolonization within Global Education and will critically examine hierarchical knowledge structures and colonial bias. Together, we will explore educational practices that are just, relevant, and community-based. The session aims to strengthen participants’ critical understanding of Global Education and to develop recommendations for integrating decolonial strategies into educational practice. The lecture is designed for educators, researchers, students, education practitioners, and everyone interested in issues of equality in education. The program includes expert input and interactive discussions.
