A tiny snail is having a rest inside a rolled up leaf – we chose this photo as the motive for our Human Rights Campaign 2025: It symbolizes safety and comfort, and also a place to draw back for yourself if neccessary, a source of strength and hope.
The Right to a Secure Home is part of the Human Rights Convention of the United Nations. But it doesn't just mean security and comfort, but also dignity and the chance to a fulfilled life. From our Christian perspective, this is something all people deserve. Lack of affordable housing, social factors like poverty and unavailable support structures, displacement and migration: All of this leads to currently 150 Million people being affected by homelessness and social discrimination.
Our members in all three regions Africa, Asia and Germany engage to provide people in areas of conflict with a secure home. They engage to defend housing areas and to foster social housing projects. This task they fulfill in the Spirit of Jesus, to make the kingdom of God visible here on this earth already. In this we want to support them with this Human Rights Campaign.
As in every year, we invite churches and communities with the Campaign Poster and additional information to participate in this campaign. Please support our projects to defend Human Rights: Here you can donate online.

Thank you for standing with us!
Still people are clinging on to a heart that carries them out of the razor wire, hoping for rescue and justice. This time, the Bible verse on the poster isn't directed to God, but to us humans. Through the Prophet Isaiah, God calls us: "Keep what is Right, and do Justice!" (Isaiah 56,1)
"Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies and from them that persecute me!". This cry of distress from Psalm 31:15 is the title of this year's UEM Human Rights Action. As a communion of churches, we see it as our duty to stand by people who have become victims of injustice and violence.
The topic "Against Discrimination and Exclusion" is the focus of the 2022 UEM Human Rights Campaign with the Bible verse "But who are you to judge your neighbours?" (James 4:12) Discrimination is an everyday reality among our members. That is why we have taken up this topic again - this time with different thematic focuses in the three UEM regions.
